Track-At-Once (TAO) compatibility issues
Why am I getting an error when trying to burn a CD using the transition options?
When you use the Track-At-Once (TAO) writing mode for burning an audio CD, your recordable drive may not support the audio CD options Add/Do not add 2-second gap between tracks and Crossfade tracks into one another.
While most newer drives support removal of the two-second gap, they have no way to indicate this to RealPlayer (RealTimes), nor to you. When using the default CD burning mode, Disc-At-Once (DAO) writing, both of these transition options are supported.
It is recommended that you use the default Disc-At-Once (DAO) writing mode when you burn audio CDs. To enable DAO, clear Always use TAO... in your CD Burner preferences.
If you receive an error while using the TAO writing mode for audio CD burning, click Edit Options (from the Burn view). Confirm that Add 2-second gap between tracks is selected in the "Audio CD Options" dialog and try your burn again. You can test these options without wasting discs by selecting Enable Test Mode in the "Advanced Options" dialog or by going directly to your CD Burner preferences.
Note: If your drive does not support DAO, the option to turn off TAO burning will not be available. In this case, TAO will be selected by default and the option will be disabled.
