Images located in real/RealPlayer/content/images
I just discovered that my AppData\Local\Real\RealPlayer\Content\images folder has nearly 17,000 thumbnail images (400Mb) that I didn't put there. I presume the software did it. Couple questions: 1. where did they come from? 2. why did this happen? 3. What is the naming convention for the files? 4. How do I trace the pictures back to their original file location? 5. How do I stop this from happening? and finally 6. can I delete them from my computer without any ramifications? thank you

These are cached thumbnail files RealPlayer uses to show icon view in the library. They need to be in this location and it is by design.

- They are auto-generated from your actual files that are stored in your hard disk.
- Same as above.
- The program gives a random naming convention to these cached files.
- We won't have much information on how it traces back to the original location as these are hard coded into the program.
- This is by design and can't be stopped from happening.
- If you delete them, you will lose all the thumbnail preview within RealPlayer but will be re-populated the next time you reinstall RealPlayer.
