real player cloud crashes towards end of downloading video

I have version 17.10 because it still had the "download this video" button on the top of video being played. The problem I'm having is it crashes when the video is almost done. I have to close it but it reopens to download another video. This happens many times. Also when I click on download button within a few seconds the login page shows up asking for password and logon name, but he I enter info nothing happens. I would like to update the version but am afraid I will lose the ability to download my videos I want. I did have a newer version and it did not work the same as old one did, so I went back to the older version. Can you help me with this? And is the newer update version better so it works like the older one did"
