RealPlayer has stopped downloading videos from YouTube.
I can't download any YouTube videos anymore. I could only yesterday, but today, I can't. Every time I try, this error message comes up: "Real Player cannot download videos on this page." Thing is, it can't download videos on any YouTube page!

Same problem here. I haven't been able to download from YouTube in a week. That was my main reason for subscribing!!!!

YouTube made some changes (yet again yesterday) on their end, which caused issues with downloading videos through RealPlayer. The good news is that we’ve re-engineered RealPlayer to work with these changes — and it’s now fixed for RealPlayer version 24.
To get things working again, please “over-install” RealPlayer by going to www.real.com. Just download the installer and run it — when it says RealPlayer is already installed, go ahead and continue the installation. No need to uninstall first.
If you're using RealPlayer version 22, we're still working on a fix and hope to have that available soon.

I did the RN Support update, but it is still not working as of the morning of 5/5/25. We do get the dropdown menu with options, something that wasn't even available earlier this past week, but upon attempting to download any YouTube video, we get an "unable to download" message.

Well everything worked for a few days, currently down loader is hit and miss. My video library has doubled and tripled thumbnails and for extra measure has photo files mixed in within video library. I can’t seem to be able to do anything with the RP blue square (for each photo) not move or even delete. Can’t figure what went wrong. Uninstalled everything figuring maybe a few day break couldn’t hurt.

Think I might be successful this time around the double and triple photo files in my video library are cured and most of all video downloader button is back and working well across multiple sources.
Eliminated everything labeled RP, rebooted and did a clean install.0 -
As of Monday morning, 4/7/24, everything seems to be working well for me as far as downloading on YouTube again. Thank you, tech support!

Stumbled across a fix on my PC (running windows-10).
Trying to download Youtube videaos with Realplayer often has the result of URL not found.
A bit of research found that this can be to do with Realplyer complying with copyright laws which are now beig stringently applied in the US
there's a shock :-/
I use a VPN for streaming.
Set the VPN to a server somewhere in Europe and I find I can now rip any Youtube video (as before).0 -

Sept 26... and I can't download youtube videos with real player even though I paid for PLUS. I am on Win11, have tried both chrome & firefox.... what's up now? I checked and my versions are all current... windows, realplayer & browsers.

Not only unable to download YouTube videos since updates went out but unable to download Realplayer due to Sophos antivirus blocking it

2025-10-28 Downloading audio is not working, beginning today. I can still download video from YouTube but not audio anymore. I've re-installed, updated, restarted, etc, all the usual things to do when programs don't work, but the problem continues. I have the latest Windows 11 version and it is updated. I am a PLUS subscriber so I hope you get this problem fixed quickly.

This is what I did to solve the problem in Chrome Browser:

Go the three dots at the top left

Go down to: More Tools and then Internet Options

Programs tab at the top
-
Manage Add-ons
-
Scroll down to RealPlayer and select it

Click "Enable"

Select Close to exit out.
Hope it works for you too.

Real Player still does not work with YouTube. I installed the update for the downloader for my RealPlayer 24, but it still does not work.
