You seem to be missing some codecs and hence you are being prompted to upgrade.

Installing the K-Lite codec pack often helps to fix issues related to playback and converting. You can install it from the link below:

    http://www.codecguide.com/download_k-lite_codec_pack_mega.htm

After installing the codec, restart your computer and try converting the videos again.

Thanks for trying to help me. I actually started with a MPEG file that could not be properly read by Realplayer (I had the sound but not the image) and was not compatible with the trimmer or converter of Realplayer ("file parsing error" message). I did download the K-lite codecs and then I could read properly the file but still had a problem of compatibility with the trimmer and converter. Then I used another software to convert the file to .mp4, now it is recognised by both the trimmer and converter but I have this problem that I'm asked to upgrade.

Was this MPEG file created by a camera which might have a proprietary format/software? Would you be able to share this file so we can test it in-house?

To send us a file up to 1 GB in size, please follow these instructions:

    1. Go to https://tobor2.prognet.com/cgi-bin/incoming.cgi
    2. You will see instructions for attaching the file. Choose the file you want to send us.
    3. In the "to" section, enter "gsharma".
    4. In the box below, enter your email address and/or ticket number, along with a brief note about the issue (just a sentence is fine).
    5. Click Send.

We will review the file(s). If for some reason we have difficulty receiving the file, we will let you know.
