After 2 mandatory updates, can't play dvd full screen

Movies (dvd) played full screen until the two mandatory updates today. The version of RP is now 18.1.17.202. I am on Windows 8. I paid for Plus.

There is an instruction for RP 18 that below the movie screen there is a small triangle. I wish, but there is no triangle or anything else that I can find to resize.

Using the "View" tab and selecting any of the three offered settings only plays the DVD using the upper left portion of the screen. The two larger sizes just use more of the upper left of the screen, but don't come close to full screen. On theater mode there are four inches of black screen to the right of the movie frame on the right and a two inch band of black on the bottom.

Tried uninstalling and reinstalling. No change.

  Is your monitor a 4k monitor? Would you be able to provide us with the resolution of your monitor?

  Regular Hannspree monitor, 23"

  1920 x 1080, the recommended setting.
