Technology, as you know it is constantly and ever changing for the better.

That being said, YouTube and other websites are also constantly making changes to their websites by introducing newer technologies. Every time they make such changes and introduce newer technologies, it breaks our RealDownloader.

Our engineers have always been able to resolve these issues and as always, we have resolved the current downloader issue just now.

To resolve the downloader issue, you will need to follow these steps once again.

    1. Open Internet Options from the search window.
    2. Under General Tab, click Delete in Browsing History and follow prompts.
    3. Close Internet Options.

Once you are done resetting your Internet Options, please follow these steps:

    1. Using Chrome, Firefox or Edge, go to YouTube.com and play any video and click the Downloader button. (This action will still show "Unable to download" message)
    2. Close all Windows
    3. Restart your PC

Now try your video. If the issue persists, please let us know.

Thanks for the comments and the reply that starts with, '' Technology... (below).

I had tried this the other day ( obviously that was just before you fixed the issue) literally five minutes ago I did it and it was successful.

    Thank you!!

Just out of interest is this a std. 'go to' repair I should try each time this problem occurs?

You are right in the sense, each time they (websites) make changes, it breaks our Downloader. We have to re-engineer our Downloader to make it compatible with the changes they've made. They don't necessarily inform us about the changes they make and they are not expected to do so too.

When we have re-engineered our Downloader, we push the updated version. The steps we outline are the ones that makes the Downloader get updated.

That being said, we are working on making these updates available within the player instead of going through these steps. It will probably be in a future release.

Lastly, this can occur again if these websites make changes. Nevertheless, our engineering team has been pretty good at making the Downloader work again. Of course, there could be a disruption for a few days when such things happen. Thank you for understanding!
