Trying to burn dvd

I'm trying to burn a video onto a dvd in my dvd player but I keep getting an error mesage saying the disc in my player is not a dvd.

  Did you change your burn option to Video Disc Burn? Can you post a screenshot of your RealPlayer in the Burn section?
