You can't run videodl as a standalone program. What you are seeing is expected behavior. Can you please provide the following information?

    • Please provide a sample URL that you are not able to download video.
    • What web browser are you using?
    • Any specific error messages you see?

Not surprised that videodl won't run as a standalone program.

Sample URLs above that don't work. All Youtube except one Vimeo. Clicking the button bar at the top of the browser page sometimes allows a try at downloading; other times a message that the video cannot be downloaded. The downloader program never launches indicating that a video is being downloaded.

Chrome Version 100.0.4896.88 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Edge Version 100.0.1185.39 (Official build) (64-bit)

Usually NO error message. Just nothing happens. Sometimes a message saying cannot download from this page.

We were able to download all of these videos. You do seem to have the right versions of all mentioned here. Something else is blocking the downloader to perform correctly. Have you tried reinstalling the player? Lastly, what kind of firewall programs do you have installed?

I've turned off (and then back on) firewalls. No joy.

It appears that what is left is to reinstall the player. How shall I reinstall the player? If I click on any of the various things on the web, I get the "free" version. But my current plan is RealPlayer20/20 PLUS. How do I retain the PLUS?

By Signing in after you have re-installed the player.

It will upgrade to plus again, automatically.
