Why does Real Converter keep crashing?

Sometimes when I try to convert my mp4 videos to WMV it will crash. Why does it do this and how can I stop it from doing it?

  This can happen if your MP4 videos have certain codecs that are not compatible with RealPlayer. Are these MP4 videos playable with RealPlayer? Does it give any error message at the time of crash?
