Strange video conversion problem
Hello,
I decided to give another try to RealPlayer, so I downloaded the last version + premium subscription to try, both on a new personnal PC and on a cloud virtual machine.
I installed K-lite Mega first, then RealPlayer, logged in, downloaded additionnal premium stuffs and beginned to try, then uninstalled, re-installed, rebooted etc.. at least 10 times.. Just to be sure it wasn't coming from my computers.
Everything seems working for me, EXCEPT video conversions with RealVideo
There are problems, same problems on both computers.
About RealVideo codecs :
First, on Windows 10, you have to change the extension name if the video file is .m4v (change for .mpg for example), otherwise the conversion will not work... this wouldn't be too difficult to fix in the soft.
Secondly, if you make a custom set with RealVideo and RealAudio Lossless, you will not have a RealAudio Lossless track in the video converterd but a Real lossy 192kbps.
I had already pointed out this problem in my last try (2 years ago).
It is still not fixed.
RealVideo + RealAudio Lossless doesn't work together, but Real Audio Lossless works well for audio only.
Third, the strangest thing to me : try to convert a movie in 1080p... and you will get several video files after conversion... Each one is 1,46Go... It's just unusable !
What happen's ?!
In 2022, a 1080p limitation becomes disturbing, but if on top of that you can not even convert video files more than 1,46Go...
This RealVideo codec seems very old, quite unusable today. Only for small videos !
So my question is : where is rv60 codec, where is realvideo 6 ?? It's realvideo 4 actually.
I would really go on using thoses softs, I like RealTimes on my phone..
Can you answer me about video conversion please ?
Best regards

We currently use rv40 codec in the player. We will have to find out from the product engineering team about rv60 codec including about the Real Lossy output.
Regarding the first point mentioned "on Windows 10, you have to change the extension name if the video file is .m4v", can you please clarify what file format are you renaming to .m4v in order to make the conversion work? And are you using the output as RealVideo? Please clarify.
Can you also explain the 3rd item in your post? What is the file format and into what format are you trying to convert it into? What is the aspect ratio of the original file? Are you using RealVideo as your output?
We are trying to reproduce the issues you have reported here so please excuse us if our questions are repetitive.
