A work around for now.
When the downloading screen shows a full solid bar and 0, hit the play button and that should start the download. Close the player. And when the solid bar is gone, it should be downloaded.

No message, it just downloads a short videos. For long videos the bar goes all the way to the right all at once and shows no download amount.
