If the issue persists, please let us know.

Please note: We are not making any more bug fixes on RealPlayer v.18. As RealNetworks makes new products available to customers, it's not possible for us to continue supporting older products.

Wow so glad to know it's not just happening here too - so frustrating, isn't it?!?!  Had been working fine - until the update was apparently required this morning and now downloader doesn't work at all....  Please pretty please how can we get that going again???  Fingers crossed (and thanks in advance for helping us to make it right!)

Just think, Remembering what happened last time, a screen came up saying Update, that has fixed downloading issues.

Ending up in a Support Nightmare for at least a month! Here we go again!

Same here. In my case it works once in Microsoft Edge. In Chrome the pull down pops  down once at the top of the screen, never to be seen again. This is very frustrating. Yes I am signed in with my user id. Still bot working.

Here is an update on a work-around and for RT diagnostics in Chrome. I went to  my YT history, if I open a video I want to download, I right clicked and opened in a new window. You have to be prepared and fast, you get one shot at the pull down to catch it and initiate the download. Ignore any ads that may be running, let it play. If you place your cursor in the vicinity of the animated pull down menu, you can catch the download button at the top of the screen during the animated pull down. I repeat, you only get one shot at it.

The other method that works, if you catch it one time and do a download, minimize it. Next video you want to capture, highlight the url and CTRL-C to capture the url. Then maximize the downloader screen and paste the url into the 'download a video from a weblink'. Both of these methods work, although very inconvenient. The one-shot at the pull down appears to behave the same in Microsoft Edge and assume you will get the same results if you can grab the pull down tab upon the single event, top of screen animated tab.

I said 'new window', I meant New Tab.... from YT history page.

.... did the update as directed ---- is Version 20.0.6.303 --- and it hasn't helped at all (the link to download specific video shows - and clicking it to go - then it totally fails!)  Fingers still crossed and hoping it can indeed work again!  (same in both Firefox and Edge)

    Jan,

Can you please let us know the following information:

    1. Please go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Real\RealPlayer.
    2. Right click on videodl and click Properties and then the Details tab.

Please provide us with the version number you see there.

Could you also provide us with a sample URL that you are trying to download?

HI and thank you!  OK - the computer that is now having the worst problems with downloader is Version 2021.10.14.0 ---- and a sample URL video trying to download is here - https://energymedicinesummit.com/program/45329  (plus all the rest of those at the page that one is on, LOL!)  - the program finds the video, click download, and it appears to do it but it doesn't (not.at.all!) ----- Now what's really interesting is that on another computer Version 20.0.4.306  - DOES work, but is pretty slow.... but at least it still works.....   Again fingers crossed (such an awesomely wonderful and helpful program, Real Downloader is when it works!!!)  Thanks so much - Jan

We are also not able to download the video from this particular website. We are able to download videos from other popular websites such as YouTube. It is quite possible something changed on the website or how they host their videos. We don't control how websites manage this aspect. You may need to contact them directly.

Lastly, can you try the same video on your other computer and confirm if it is still downloading there? Does it complete the download and does it play the video after it is downloaded?

We have escalated this to our product team. We will let you know what they find out.

Hi and super!  And yes - both are Windows 10, and the one that DOES still do the downloads that the other doesn't is your Version 20.0.4.306, Distribution T20END02 --- in case that helps for figuring things out.  Fingers crossed that the issue can get sorted out so that successful downloads can begin again with the newer/updated version!  Thanks so much!

Upgrading to windows 11 will NOT HELP.

As CS Say they have sent the problems to Production Team.

WAIT till they come up with a Solution.

WE ARE ALL WAITING HERE, for them.

Fingers still crossed here that the Production Team can make this work again for downloading videos like it used to -- happy to say, though, that I discovered this weekend anyway that this new/updated version does indeed do a better job of downloading YouTubes than the prior versions did - LOL!  Still though - please pretty please - get it to work again for videos from other sources, too, like it used to! And again sincerest thanks in advance!

So has anyone figured out why the downloader stopped working? I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling and nothing changes. Rebooted laptop, nothing. Please help! As a content creator I need this function to work.

I dont know why, try the fix by shutting down wait 30 seconds boot up, see what happens. I tried it, it works a bit, found it left behind .srt files, which have to be removed manually. It works a little for me. Thats what I tried, try it

With regards to the inability to download videos, we were able to identify the root cause and our engineering team was able to resolve it. To be able to download videos again, please follow these steps.

    1. Attempt to download any video of your choice (You will still have the same error).
    2. Simply restart your computer after this.
    3. Upon restarting your computer, the Downloader will be updated in the backend and your downloads should start working.

If the issue still persists, please let us know.
