Low playback quality streaming from PC to Roku
I'm streaming a video from my PC on my Roku. Why is the video quality poor?
When you stream a video from your PC to any other device using a free RealTimes account, the video encoder that is part of Windows controls the quality. While the quality will be fine on a small screen like an iPad, it may look worse on a large-screen TV. Depending on the size of the video, there are two possible solutions:
Solution 1: Upload the video to the Cloud.
If you upload the video to your RealCloud, then watch it on your Roku, it will be automatically optimized for viewing on a larger screen using our SurePlay(TM) technology.
Solution 2: Upgrade your account.
If you upgrade to a Premium or Unlimited RealTimes account (for as little as $4.99 a month), you will get additional codecs and be able to stream videos from your PC to your Roku at a higher quality.
