Uninstall and reinstall RealPlayer 20/20

How do I completely remove RealPlayer from my PC, then reinstall it?

NOTE: RealPlayer 16 and RealPlayer Cloud are no longer available for download and cannot be reinstalled. Customers running Windows 7 or higher can install the current version, RealPlayer 20/20. To access Plus features, you will need to purchase RealPlayer Plus or subscribe to RealTimes Premium.

Uninstall the application.

Windows 10

1. Make sure your applications are completely closed.
2. To begin, type Control Panel in Search the web and Windows.
3. Locate and select RealPlayer to uninstall. Click Uninstall on the toolbar.
4. The Uninstall dialog appears, showing checkbox choices of components that are available for uninstall.
5. Uninstall all the components.

Caution: Before you delete your Library, please be aware that deleting it will not delete your files, but you will have to recreate all your playlists.

Windows 8/8.1

1. Make sure your applications are completely closed.
2. To begin, access the Start menu by pressing the Windows key or by hovering the cursor in the bottom left of the screen.
3. Locate RealPlayer to uninstall and right-click on the icon. A checkmark will appear in the right corner to indicate an application has been selected. Click Uninstall on the toolbar that appears at the bottom of the screen.
4. The Programs and Features window will open. Make sure the correct application is highlighted, then click Uninstall.
5. The Uninstall dialog appears, showing checkbox choices of components that are available for uninstall.
6. Uninstall all the components.

Caution: Before you delete your Library, please be aware that deleting it will not delete your files, but you will have to recreate all your playlists.

Windows 7

1. Make sure the application is closed.
2. Click the Windows Start button, point to Settings > Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs. (In Windows 7, go to Start > Control Panel > Programs and Features).
3. Select RealPlayer and click the Change/Remove or Uninstall button.
4. The Uninstall dialog appears, showing check box choices of components that are available for uninstall.
5. Uninstall all the components.

Caution: Before you delete your Library, please be aware that deleting it will not delete your files, but you will have to recreate all your playlists.

If you do not see RealPlayer in Control Panel > Programs and Features, it means that the application was not installed properly. You will need to over-install and then uninstall. To over-install, go to www.real.com and download and install the latest version. Then, follow the instructions above to uninstall.

You can reinstall the current version (RealPlayer 2020) by going to www.real.com.

If the issue you're having continues to occur, we recommend doing a clean uninstall—in addition to following the uninstall instructions above, you should also delete the application folders. NOTE: Deleting these folders will remove any playlists you've created; the files will remain in your library but the playlists will need to be re-created.
