We have noticed that YouTube is blocking videos from being downloaded at this time. There are other video hosting websites where you can still download videos from which suggests that the Downloader is still working and not broken.

We don't control websites hosting videos so there is very little we can do to force our Downloader to download videos. We will continue to investigate if there are other ways to download videos from these popular websites but at this time our only request is to be patient so these websites allow videos to be downloaded again.

However, if you are unable to download videos from a different website, please copy and paste the website address (URL) of the video that you are unable to download.

Regarding ripping, can you please let us know if you are trying to save an Audio CD or a DVD? Please note: You can't rip DVDs with RealPlayer.

I am afraid that what you said about YouTube blocking videos is not correct, because I have another downloader, which did find the video and downloaded it, but as another Realplayer Customer has stated "I pay for this one". Also, if I uninstall Realplayer and then straight away install it again, it works for the rest of the evening without issue.  You asked if I am trying to "Rip" Audio CDs or a DVD, surely there is only one type of CD for Audio and DVDs are for videos. Again, like the other Customer, when I "Rip" a "Audio CD" it only copies some of the tracks. To get around this, I have to "Rip" the same CD several times and then delete the duplicate tracks afterwards, made much harder as the Realplayer app does not always reject the CD after it has finished "Ripping".

Either there is a fault on my laptop, which appears to work with all my other apps or there is a issue with the Realplayer software, bearing in mind I am not the only one having this problem.

I will give you the URL that I was trying to download using the Realplayer tab and copying the URL into the Realplayer search engine. It was a Documentary on Dusty Springfield - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FwqzaHEh2_4. The app I used in the end was "OneClick", which had no trouble finding the video at all.
