'Requested URL is not valid' error message

Why do I get a "Requested URL is not valid" error message in RealPlayer?

If you receive the error message "Requested URL is not valid", this means that RealPlayer could not understand this web address (URL). RealPlayer can link to a valid web address such as http://www.real.com.

If you get this error, try clearing your internet cache and then load the page again. If you continue to get the error message, let the webmaster or content creator know that the URL is not working.

If you are using Internet Explorer 8.x or above, here's how to clear your cache:
1. Click the Tools menu (or the gear icon, in IE9 and higher), then choose Internet Options.
2. In the General tab, click the Delete button.
3. Check Temporary Internet Files and Cookies.
4. Uncheck Preserve favorite website data.
5. Click Delete.

 If you are using Chrome:
1. Click the three horizontal lines in the upper right corner of your browser.

2. Click Settings.
3. Click History.
4. Select Clear browsing data...
5. In the drop-down, select "the beginning of time."
6. Check the box next to Cached images and files.
7. Click Clear browsing data.

 If you are using Firefox:
1. Click the three horizontal lines in the upper right corner of your browser.
2. Click History.
3. Select Clear Recent History.
4. Set the Time Range to Clear option to "Everything."
5. Check the box next to Cache.
6. Click Clear Now.

How long this takes will vary depending on how full your Temporary Internet Files folder is.
