RealPlayer - Mobile Access (Preferences)
What is Mobile Access?
Mobile Access allows the RealPlayer Mobile app to access videos in your RealPlayer PC library. With Mobile Access, you can stream videos from PC library and transfer videos to and from your library. Mobile access is also necessary to use the Tag2Download feature on RealPlayer Mobile.
RealPlayer Mobile automatically discovers the RealPlayer PC library when both applications are connected to the same Wi-Fi (home) network.
To ensure your library is secure, RealPlayer Mobile and RealPlayer PC must both be logged in to the same RealPlayer user account.
What is Out of Home Access? | What is Relay Access?
What is Out of Home Access?
By default, when Mobile Access is enabled, RealPlayer Mobile will only have access to your RealPlayer PC library if the device is on the same Wi-Fi (home) network. Enabling Out-of-Home access allows RealPlayer PC to attempt to set up your router to allow RealPlayer Mobile device access to the PC library, even when outside of the home.
You can enable Out-of-Home Access in RealPlayer PC Preferences
- Open RealPlayer.
- Click RealPlayer logo from the top left corner
- Click Preferences
- Click Mobile Access
Please note: If your computer goes to "sleep", you will have difficulty accessing your PC library remotely. We recommend that for best performance you leave your computer plugged in and not set to "sleep mode" if you plan to access videos remotely.
What is Relay Access?
If RealPlayer PC cannot enable direct Out-of-Home access, RealPlayer Mobile may still communicate to RealPlayer PC on a secure, encrypted connection though the RealNetworks Relay Service.
