Playing DVDs

I have the same problem that someone had last year with a DVD not playing in RealPlayer Plus - see "Playing commercial DVDs".  None of the suggested solutions make any difference so not sure if that problem was ever resolved.  When the DVD is inserted I see "DVD Inserted".  If I right click on this and select "Play" the application simply exits with no error messages.  The software is no use for me as I only paid for plus to get the DVD player.
